Our undersink cabinet doors are not yet installed because the furniture maker we commissioned to create our kitchen cabinets and cabinet doors did not complete the order. They also did not deliver the stools we ordered. Only the kitchen island and kitchen wall cabinets were delivered.
We had them made at Francisco's Furniture Shop (Furniture and Cabinet Maker facebook page). Shop is located at Tala Novaliches / Caloocan City. When we were looking for suppliers they seemed legit and professional. We even visited their shop just to make sure that they can deliver what was ordered from them. They promised that they'll be able to deliver in 1 to 1.5 months. With so much prodding they delivered partially by Christmas time (2 weeks late). The rest of the wall cabinets were delivered 2-3 weeks later.
The biggest problem we had with them was the lack of communication. You have to have a lot of patience when dealing with them. You have to call them up multiple times a day to get a response. Sometimes no reply at all. The shop is far and it's inconvenient to always visit them just to followup the status of the order.
The quality of the finished product is so-so. Paint is ok but the wood used is thin. You'll get a better deal by hiring an experienced woodworker/skilled carpenter & painter with the best possible wood at the same price and minus the stress. (Image 3 shows the cabinets we ordered from Francisco's)
Moving on... Being a fan of HGTV shows, I wanted to explore if I'll be able to install the doors myself. I purchased 2 cabinet doors from Wilcon Depot, and bought paint rollers and brushes as well as wood stains. The stained wood is too light for my taste even if I did multiple coatings (see Images 1 and 2)
I bought another can of Boysen Enamel Paint (mahogany) to achieve a dark brown wood color but I have yet to paint. Hahaha I've been very busy. I hope I get to try my newly purchased paint soon.😉
